12 fl-oz Smokey Achiote Sauce
1 pound Pork shoulder
2 tablespoons salt
Directions
Add pork shoulder to Smokey Achiote Sauce and marinate for up to 1 one day.
Slow Cooker
- To cook this recipe using a slow cooker, place the meat and marinade inside slow cooker.
- Cook on the low setting for 6-8 hours.
- The meat should be easy to shred, and the sauce should have reduced somewhat.
Stovetop
- To cook on a stove top, use a large Dutch oven or large pot, place the meat and marinate inside pot.
- Turn the heat up until the contents come to a boil, then reduce the temperature to a simmer.
- Cook with the lid on for 4 hours until the meat is fork tender.
- The meat should be easy to shred, and the sauce should have reduced somewhat.
